MAC Light English Red Lipglass
MAC Light English Red Lipglass ($30.00 for 0.16 fl. oz.) is described as a “sheer beige nude.” It’s a light-medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and fine white shimmer. MAC Bijou (LE, $15.00) is lighter. MAC Lots of Laughs (LE, $15.00) is lighter. NARS Belize (P, $26.00) is warmer, less shimmery. MAC Next Fad (P, $19.50) is cooler-toned. Chanel Insolence (P, $32.00) is less shimmery. Bobbi Brown Pink Sorbet (P, $24.00) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
It had semi-opaque color coverage (definitely not sheer) that applied surprisingly evenly. There was some minor settling of the color into lip lines, but it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The texture was thin, light-medium in weight, lightly tacky, and fairly comfortable to wear. It wore well for three and a half hours, and it was neither drying nor hydrating. Given that the formula does feel much like regular Lipglass, this is double the price with the same amount of product in the tube. I was really disappointed with the way the tube felt in my hands, though; it’s so light that it feels cheap and just doesn’t have any of the hallmarks of high-end, designer packaging. MAC’s regular Lipglass feels better to me, as far as packaging goes.
