Maybelline Color Elixir Iridescent Lipgloss ($8.99 for 0.17 fl. oz.) was a miss in my experience, due to a low color payoff, shorter wear times, and a stronger, more noticeable perfume-like taste. While these are comfortable to wear and most shades are rather hydrating, the taste seemed stronger with this set than the original. I also had issues with several applicators coming broken or partially broken. The formula isn’t like the original Color Elixir range, and Maybelline didn’t indicate that these were less pigmented, only that they were shimmery. Some of them look very similar on, due to sheerness, even though there are only eight shades to choose from. I could only see considering them if you prefer sheerer, lightly shimmery glosses, don’t mind reapplication, and aren’t sensitive to flavored lip products.
